EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

      The following positions are currently available at           O.C.E.A.N., Inc.

Head Start Program:

Maintenance Worker:  Full-Time. General maintenance of offices and childcare facilities.  Valid NJ Drivers License and HS Diploma or GED required.  Minimum 1 year experience.    

Food Service Worker:  Full time.  HS Diploma or GED and valid NJ Drivers License. Experience in large quantity/batch cooking.  Must be able to lift 45-50 lbs.

Bus Driver: Part Time.  Must have current NJ CDL
and the following endorsements: S, Passenger and Airbrakes. HS Diploma or GED and ability to lift at least 45 lbs is also required. Recent graduates of recognized CDL program welcome. Bi-lingual a plus.  

Per Diem Translator Provide Spanish
translation, both verbal and written, for children and adults.

Bus Aide: Part time. Must be able to lift at least 45 lbs, have a HS Diploma or GED and previous experience with pre-school age children. Must have transportation to center.                   Bi-lingual a plus.

Teacher Assistants: Part Time, Full Time. Assist classroom teacher to provide a pleasant and productive learning environment for children and their families. Minimum 1 yr experience working with pre-school age children. Must have a valid NJ Driver's license and own transportation. Must be able to lift at least 45 lbs. Bi-lingual a plus.

Home Visitor: Full time, 44 weeks/year. Integrate Head Start Services into home visits and group socializations. BA/BS in Early Childhood Education or related field. Home Visitors must have knowledge and experience in child development and early childhood education; child health and safety; adult learning principles and family dynamics. Previous experience in              home-based setting. Bi-lingual a plus.

Head Start Employee Requirements:

  • Yearly TB testing
  • Physical every 2 years
  • CARI (Child Abuse Records Information) check
  • All Employees – pre employment drug testing plus yearly drug testing
  • CHRI - Finger Printing
