OCEAN, Inc. staff provided the Waterford Family Zoom Meeting to agency Head Start Families

OCEAN Inc, Head Start staff including the Kindergarten Readiness Team, the Waterford Team and agency families participated in a Waterford Family Zoom Meeting yesterday. The meeting offered resources for Head Start parents and caregivers to support their child's education at home.

The Waterford Early Learning Initiative is a computer-based curriculum that helps children build an academic foundation. At the start of the online meeting, Dr. Kimberly Honnick, OCEAN, Inc. Director of Kindergarten Readiness provided introductions and discussed the home school connection as participants become ‘Parents as First Teachers.’ Marieline Lizaire-Boston, Family Partner guided families with step-by-step log in instructions as they navigated the program with assistance from Breck Nielson who provided translation services throughout the meeting.

Waterford is an early learning program that can be used at home, in a classroom and offers personalized Pre-K foundational literacy and math skills, English language learning and Kindergarten Readiness. It adapts to the individual needs of each student. Parents can review the progress of their child's development in real time allowing them to observe their abilities and receive feedback on their progress.
