Former OCEAN, Inc. Head Start student takes 'Gold' as Brick Township, NJ Mayor Lisa Crate recognized Sofia Gonzales-Trelles on earning the highest achievement in Girl Scouts

At the most recent Brick Township Council meeting, Mayor Lisa Crate recognized Sofia Gonzales-Trelles, a former OCEAN, Inc. Head Start student on earning the Girl Scout Gold Award which is the highest achievement in the Girl Scouts. Sofia developed a musical program at Senior Services called 'Musical Connections' for her Gold Star Project. The program has been a success and has been enjoyed by many of the Brick Township senior residents. 

Early this year, staff at the OCEAN, Inc. Brick Head Start Center were also visited by former student Sofia Gonzoles-Trelles who attended the Brick Center during the 2008-09 School Year. As Sofia was working on her Girl Scout Gold Star project by putting together the music program for the Brick Township Seniors, she thought of further giving back by donating musical instruments to the OCEAN, Inc. Head Start Program she attended years ago.

Staff at the Brick Center were extremely excited to see her giving back to Head Start and the local seniors! Best Wishes Sofia for a bright and rewarding future.
